When Will We Hold These Privileged People Accountable

I want to see some heads roll. I want to see some walks of shame. I may even want to see some perp walks. Alright, so that be extreme, but I am tired of politicians and celebrities violating laws and basic rules of decorum, and nothing happens to them. They may have a day or two of negative press, but then everyone moves on. The villain, the media, and the public all have short attention spans, and unless the situation is dynamic, everyone gets bored and moves on. The closure is rarely achieved, and resolution is rarely satisfying. Let’s dig into a few examples.

Eric Swalwell

Congressman Eric Swalwell is not a likable individual. He grates on you and is always preaching down on people as morally superior to everyone. He is a liberal representative from California who put himself into the Democrat primary in 2020 for a couple of days until he realized he was in no way ready for the big leagues. Swalwell was obsessed with getting Donald Trump out of office and saw him as a traitor for his connection to the Russians. He served on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. This position is where the irony is fantastic.

Swalwell is forty-one, married, and a father of 3 when he started a relationship (affair) with Fang Fang (Christine FANG). Fang is a Chinese spy and is under investigation. By the FBI. When the FBI questions Swalwell about his connection to Fang, he tips her off, and she hightails it back to China and safety. You would think that Congress and the FBI would investigate Swalwell, but nay, nay. He is absolved immediately by Nancy Pelosi. He remains in the House and retains his committee seats. No idea of the bedroom whispers, but all is swept under a rug. Move along, nothing to see here.

Alec Baldwin

It has been weeks since one person was killed and one injured on the set of the movie Rust. Actor and Executive Producer Alec Baldwin held the gun and pulled the trigger of the gun that fired the fatal bullet. There is no dispute of this fact except by Baldwin, who claims he never pulled the trigger. In his mind, the gun shot itself, and Baldwin had no role in the fatal shooting. He staged a dramatic interview with George Stephanopoulos where he pled his case for his innocence. The prosecutors in New Mexico must have been watching and bought his performance because Baldwin has not been charged or arrested yet.

It is malfeasance that there has not been anyone charged. This unfortunate incident is not a homicide, but a person is dead. Somebody is responsible, and we know who held the gun. What are we missing? That’s right. Baldwin is a rich, high-profile actor and may skate. That would be a crime.

Hunter Biden

Where do you begin on the drama? There is already enough for a mini-series on the antics of Hunter Biden, the remaining son of President Joe Biden. Many may not know about the many twists in Hunter’s checkered history because the mainstream media either deny the facts or opt not to cover the story. Whether it is Hunter shaking down Ukraine for money in exchange for contact with his father, who was Vice President at the time. He assumed a seat on the board of a Ukraine energy company while having no experience in energy which paid him $50,000 a month!

At the same time Joe was VP, Hunter received millions from China to invest on China’s behalf. Hunter had little experience in the investing game, but he is a magnet for money. His latest sham is posing as a world-famous artist who creates his masterpieces by blowing paint through a straw, and then art lovers blow upwards of $500,000 to buy them. Millions of dollars flow through Hunter’s hands into the Biden machine, and Hunter, like his father, has no marketable skills. Excellent work if you can get and if your father is a lifelong politician, talent and a resume is not required.

These are just a few examples. There are many more that could fill a book. The bottom line is that power trumps guilt, which is difficult for the average person to accept. It would be satisfying if just one of these people were held accountable. It would be a win for the little people.

  1. The people you point out are good examples of a two maybe even three tiered justice system. But the best example is Hillary Clinton. She has received so many passes on obvious illegal activity it is unreal. When she wasn’t charged for having top secret information on her illegal home brew server because her “intent” was not “malignant”… even though it is literally written in the law she violated that “intent” does not matter in the enforcement of the statute it sealed the deal on the unequal justice system we have.
