When a wealthy political donor is tried and convicted of sexual predation and murder, one might expect that trial to get a fair amount of media attention. The same could be said about that individual’s sentencing, particularly when it essentially amounts to a life sentence for the felon in question.
Yet when a mega-donor named Ed Buck was found guilty of nine felony counts last summer, not just for murder, but also for distributing methamphetamines and enticing men for prostitution, we barely heard a peep from the mainstream media. Similarly, when the 67-year-old Buck was sentenced on Thursday to 30 years in prison, what we heard from the left and their media on the matter amounted to crickets chirping.
Have you seen any widespread coverage of this story? Of course not, and the reason is clear. Buck is a Democrat who had contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to prominent Democratic politicians including Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), and Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA). Additionally, Buck.
Additionally, Buck was generous in handing out funds to leftwing causes including various LGBTQ activist groups, animal rights organizations, and his own “animal welfare-centric political action committee.” In short, prior to his downfall, Ed Buck was the perfect Democrat who supported all the right people and all the right causes. And that’s not the time of murderous, sexual predator that the mainstream media wants to shed light on.
According to reports of the court proceedings, Buck was fond of “meth-fueled sexual encounters” with men with whom he would provide temporary housing and/or monetary compensation. He would offer the drugs to the individuals and once intoxicated, inject them with excessive doses. Once his victims were sufficiently intoxicated or unconscious, he would act out his fetishes and perform various sex acts on them.
As Buck’s perversions escalated, he became increasingly dangerous. Buck ultimately killed two men by administering such extreme amounts of the drugs that it caused them to overdose. Their names were Gemmel Moore who died in 2017, and Timothy Dean who died in 2019.
There is no doubt that scum like Ed Buck exists on both sides of the political spectrum. There’s nothing preventing degenerates with money to donate to causes, and politicians often receive such donations without having any knowledge of their transgressions. But why is it that when Republican donors such as Anton Lazzaro are nabbed for similar offenses, the media hypes the news and ensures everyone is aware, but when it happens with a leftist Democrat like Ed Buck, mum’s the word?
