The findings from the examination into the origins of the Democratic establishment’s attempts to destroy President Donald Trump by accusing him of colluding with key members of the Russian government – better known as The Durham Investigation – have always hinged on one key aspect of the hoax: The Steele Dossier. It was the cornerstone card upon which the entire farcical house of cards was built.
In October, one of the key enablers of the dossier’s eventual prominence, Igor Danchenko, will stand trial for making false statements to the FBI. And while Special Counsel John Durham has clearly been deeply involved with all the pieces of the Russia Hoax puzzle, based on what we’ve learned this week, Mr. Durham will be even more involved with the Danchenko trial.
Appearing in federal court on Monday for a hearing on the Danchenko trial, Mr. Durham did more than just stand by and observe the proceedings as he’s done in the past. According to the Washington Examiner:
Durham did the talking for the prosecution on Monday during a brief Danchenko hearing, and he filed a short notice with the federal court, saying, ‘I appear in this case as counsel for the United States of America.’
While the special counsel was often present in the courtroom during the Sussmann trial, he never spoke, so Monday’s actions were a marked departure.”
As the lead lawyer in the courtroom, Durham also went on to provide some detail regarding the progress of his investigation team and gave us some hints into what tactics they may employ. According to court records, Durham has requested the court issue 30 subpoenas for witnesses, Durham estimates the trial will last five or six days, and he stated that his team is on schedule for making discovery available for the defense team.
Additionally, Danchenko’s indictment provides detail on what may be in store for the well-connected Russian in October:
“Danchenko was interviewed by the FBI in January, March, and May 2017. Horowitz said Danchenko’s January 2017 interview with FBI officials ‘raised doubts about the reliability of Steele’s descriptions of information.’ The Russia-born lawyer has lived and worked in the Washington, D.C., area for many years, allegedly relying on a network of Russian contacts. But he has been accused of undermining key collusion claims when interviewed by the FBI.
According to Durham, Danchenko anonymously sourced a fabricated claim about Trump Campaign Manager Paul Manafort to Hillary Clinton ally Chuck Dolan, who spent many years, including 2016, doing work for Russian businesses and the Russian government.”
In other words, Danchenko was knee-deep in what we know now were blatant lies about Mr. Trump.
While it will be interesting to see exactly how much guilt or innocence can be attributed to Mr. Danchenko, it is the additional information that we may or may not learn from the trial that promises to be fascinating.

Danchenko had tight ties with Russia, but what about Americans? Will he or any of the 30 witnesses testify about links between Danchenko and key members of the U.S. government? Will there be any lines connecting him to the Clinton Campaign? The Obama Administration? How about key members of Congress, including Adam Schiff? What was Danchenko’s relationship with Fusion GPS? And what was Mr. Danchenko’s motivation?
For over three years we had to watch and listen to the Democrats and their media promote lies and hysteria about our duly elected president. They did everything they could to ensure his failure. They told us “the walls are closing in.” They interrupted broadcasts with promises of one “bombshell” after another. But it was all bullshit. Perhaps now, with the trial of Igor Danchenko and the apparently acute attention from John Durham, there will finally be some accountability for the hoax’s perpetrators.
