FBI Mar-A-Lago Raid Shows The Utter Insignificance Of January 6th Committee

Before anyone starts hollering that Monday night’s raid on former President Donald Trump’s Florida residence Mar-a-Lago was conducted without the consent of the Biden Administration, please save your energy. Take a deep breath, take a tranquilizer, and seek psychiatric help.

There’s no way that the FBI’s search of Mar-a-Lago happened without the approval of Attorney General Merrick Garland, who runs the Department of Justice and to whom FBI Director Christopher Wray reports. In fact, it’s highly unlikely that Garland was not intimately involved in the planning and execution of the raid. And let’s not forget to whom Garland reports: The President.

Additionally, while it may be remotely possible that President Joe Biden may not have been mindful of the raid – in which case that obliviousness was likely due more to senility and/or incompetence than to information being withheld from him – we can be absolutely certain that key members of Biden’s Cabinet were well aware. There’s no way Chief of Staff Ron Klain wasn’t briefed of the scheme ahead of time, along White House Counsel Keisha Lance Bottoms and many others.

In fact, it’s safe to say that anyone with real influence over the president was thoroughly informed of the raid ahead of time. The raid on Mar-a-Lago was clearly political, and it’s unthinkable that Biden’s entire political apparatus hadn’t been consulted and their stamps of approval given beforehand. Furthermore, it would be surprising if key Congressional Democrats such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer weren’t kept in the loop as well.

Monday’s FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago may have been conducted by deep state bureaucrats within the DOJ, but make no mistake, elected officials throughout the Democratic Party had their fingers in the pie as well. And the decision to pull the trigger on the raid may have been the most egregious political miscalculation since Teddy Roosevelt’s concoction of the Bull Moose Party.

For over eighteen months now, the Democrats have been beating the January 6th drum as loudly and as often as they can. President Trump and the rioters attacked our very democracy that day, they’ve insisted. If Trump or the Republicans ever retake power, they’ll attempt to destroy our institutions, they warned. Trump and Republicans will stop at nothing to attack political enemies just like on January 6th, they assured us.

Democrats have pinned the entirety of their electoral aspirations on January 6th, and that plan hasn’t worked particularly well. But after the FBI’s shenanigans on Monday, their entire narrative looks utterly silly now.

On January 6th, a handful of unarmed rioters decided to force their way into the Capitol Building and cause trouble; despite being asked to “peacefully make your voices heard.” Our democracy was never seriously under threat that day, as evidenced by the entire affair being put to bed within a few hours. What the rioters did was wrong, and many of them have been punished; and we can argue that some have even been persecuted. But what happened at Trump’s Florida residence on Monday is something much more troubling.

As these words are being typed, it’s been approximately 48 hours since the FBI raid commenced. To this point, the only justification for the raid that has been provided appears to be that Donald Trump took some documents from the White House on his way out that he shouldn’t have. There’s been no smoking gun showing criminality from Trump. There have been no shocking details of anything even remotely nefarious. The most shocking item to come out of the Mar-a-Lago incursion is the boldness of the raid itself.

When a few hundred clowns barged into the Capitol, their actions were essentially a footnote in history. America was never really under threat on January 6th. But when President Biden and his thugs decide that it’s OK to launch a fishing expedition against a former president and current political foe by militarizing the FBI and invading that president’s personal residence, those actions are much more than a historical footnote. Those actions are tyrannical and extremely provocative. Those are the types of moves that result in armed militias taking matters into their own hands and nationwide chaos.

What Biden and his DOJ did on Monday at Mar-a-Lago is unthinkable. Their actions have now completely destroyed any trust in our institutions for millions of Americans, who had already been skeptical. The left’s complete hatred of Trump has been irrational for five-plus years now, but the Mar-a-Lago incident has taken that derangement to a whole new level. How can any of us trust the FBI? Or the CIA? Or the justice system which gave the FBI the green light? How can any of us trust our federal government at all?

President Biden, who ran for office on an agenda of ‘unity’ and ‘healing’ is now responsible for the single-most divisive action by an American leader in over 160 years, and his targeting of Trump with the FBI is thoroughly shredding the very fabric of this nation. Over 76 million Americans voted for Trump only 21 months ago, and Biden’s message to those voters is this: Watch your back, pal… or you’ll be next. These are truly sad and disturbing times for our country.
