The concentration of money accelerates societal decay because it creates time for leisure. The first level of financial concentration has always begun with the growth of cities. The city arises as a central trading post for the agricultural community where farmers can sell their crops to and purchase goods from the newly created merchants. The local community often gathered here to relate politics, news and gossip because everyone frequently stopped by.
As communities grew they provided new financial opportunities and the gradual depletion of small town local life accelerated. The larger trading cities began an exponential growth of population by draining the wealth from the hinterlands. Extreme wealth began to concentrate in fewer hands allowing for purchasing political favors which means control. This type of expansion has been similar throughout history. In Athens you can see the forged name of Alcibiades etched in the clay of a broken jar that was a mail in vote for the Joe Bribe‘em of the day.
All cities experience great governmental growth and therefore corruption. Welcome to Chicago. There are always a significant number of citizens struggling in poverty for various reasons that must be kept fed and amused. People that were once well fed and housed that now walk the streets tend to assemble ropes or guillotines when they are forced into poverty. Hence began the welfare system by using the omnipresent moral busybodies as an excuse to extort money and gain power over the mob. Another benefit is providing a layer of safety armor for the corruptee.
Today our system has evolved into creating crises of various types to solidify political and cultural control by prodding the self absorbed into action. The current group of outraged neurotics we enjoy on our streets are the transgender transvestites. The ones most notable are the (women)? who have won the “I can’t get a man” sweepstakes. They are rather easy to roll out as they have nothing at home to engage them but a box of doughnuts and a cat. The numbers in these groups are actually rather small but skillful editing and repetition of the videos give the appearance of mass demonstrations. These unfortunates can be provided with a few signs, a bottle of intoxicants and a slogan to screech and we have quite a nice demonstration providing a fine excuse to extort more money from the ordinary citizen to solve the crisis.
These large cities are perfect for frauds of various types as no one really knows the population levels within its’ boundaries. In small towns it is inefficient to commit voter fraud because any fool can see that a town of 100 people cannot vote 125 times. In large cities population numbers are vague at best. A fun example in 2016 came from that center of moral rectitude, Detroit. The Green Party candidate demanded a recount as she felt she had received more than 2% of the vote. They had to quickly call off the exercise when it was determined that Hilly Clinton had received more votes than there were registered voters on the rolls in the city.
These situations with tremendous amounts of money floating around also create a need for a specialized police force. It is similar to the movie “A Clockwork Orange.” Our hero Alex, arrives home from a brainwashing session (our current college system), and little Alex finds his former gang member friends are cops who have found more funds are available for legal criminals working for politicians instead of old fashioned theft. It certainly works for the FBI.
What can be done to alleviate the fraud and corruption? The answer is nothing. The tide has floated out.
