Last week, Sen Jim Risch (R-ID) released a report with a somewhat different accounting of the state of our current hostage crisis. His report estimates that 15,000 Americans were left behind when we precipitously fled from Afghanistan. He further estimates that since our departure, 6,000 of those Americans have been rescued by private organizations. Let that sink in.
But what if a party stops cooperating? What if party “A” breaks the rules – as the House Democrats have done? Tit-for-tat demands that the offender be punished. Party “B” must mimic (proportionally punish) the other side, and make the offender experience negative consequences so that future infractions are deterred. Only through deterrence will the offender likely return to cooperative behavior. Tit-for-tat achieves the best overall outcome when one party refuses to play nice.
They’ve decided that they will use a three-judge panel of medical experts to review each transgender swimmer and figure out which team they’re playing for. As any maternity nurse can tell you, it doesn’t take a panel of “experts” to check the undercarriage and determine if a swimmer is a boy or a girl. Apparently just telling people that they have to compete as the sex they were born is just a bit too retrograde for our new woke society.
For the past year, Americans have been pretty clear about what they want. They want inflation to stop eating away at their savings and income like an infestation of rats. They want to be able to go to the grocery store without being car-jacked along the way. If they somehow manage to run the gauntlet and make it to the store, they’d like to find some products on the shelves. They’d like to end the flood of illegals across our southern border, which brings crime and drives down labor rates.
As the financial guys say: Past performance is the best predictor of future behavior. So, what have the Oath Keepers done in the past? They’ve defended the property rights of private citizens, protested an election that half of America thinks was stolen and accused Biden of being a Chinese puppet. Stewart Rhodes must have learned a thing or two about the Constitution at Yale Law. All of his organization’s past activities have been entirely consistent with the Constitution — freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, property rights, and government by the people
In August of 2021, the FBI said there was no evidence of a coordinated attack on the Capitol. Now, in January of 2022, the FBI is saying that Rhodes organized teams to conduct an armed paramilitary operation to prevent congressional certification of the vote. There’s just one problem: It never happened. Except for the activities of Ray Epps, who is no longer wanted by the FBI, there was no coordination at all of the mob at the Capitol. Stewart Rhodes was present, but he never entered the Capitol, and like the other Oath Keepers present, he was unarmed.
The deep state is behaving like any other criminal enterprise. Success leads to hubris and their adventures get bolder and bolder. The deep state has already affected an election outcome. How swollen do you suppose their ego has become? But eventually hubris meets nemesis. They go too far. They take too many chances, and are exposed. Was January 6 the operation that went too far? Was stealing an election not enough? Did they have to discredit all conservatives as well?
Do federal employees really stimulate the economy with their spending? They’re only spending money that was forcibly taken from others, and then largely spent on nonsense. Given that much of what they do isn’t value-adding, it stimulates the economy about the same way “mostly peaceful” youths do when they conduct a smash-and-grab at the local department store. It’s more redistribution than stimulation, and not what a healthy economy needs. The only way for the government to actually stimulate the economy is to cut taxes and get out of the way of business.
On April 11, 2021, Kim Potter was one of several police officers attempting to arrest Daunte Wright on an outstanding warrant for a firearms violation. He was also alleged to be in violation of a restraining order. Wright attempted to flee the scene in his car with a female passenger — otherwise known as a hostage. Officers wrestled with Wright to prevent him from fleeing.
Liberals don’t understand that we cannot exchange our reality for another one. Understanding that truth comes from a recognition that we do not control the laws of nature or economics. Reality is not fungible. The laws of nature cannot be changed because they are inconvenient. Truth is fixed, and facts are hard. People do not have their own reality. If they perceive the world other than as it is, they are not enlightened; they are deranged — or liberal, or both.
How would Norman Rockwell have depicted 2021? Would the lone speaker be standing tall and confident, knowing that he would suffer no retribution for his words? Or would the artist somehow depict his emotions, knowing that he is placing himself at great personal risk of being canceled from his livelihood and social associations?
Which party advocated racial segregation? That would again be the Democrats. In fact, segregationist southern Democrats even had their own club which they called the Dixiecrats – harkening back to the antebellum glory days of the south. The Dixiecrats were racist – and proud of it. George Wallace famously said, “Segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever.” He was the Governor of Alabama – also a Democrat.
Certainly, following lawful orders is important, but notice that there is nothing mentioned about obedience to leadership. That’s because following orders is between the officers and their leaders. Upholding their oath is between them and us, the American people. We expect them to make judgements about right and wrong, and the oath is their assurance that they will do so conscientiously.
Newsom will force the Supreme Court to weigh written rights against imaginary rights. The right to bear arms is an actual written right. It’s right there in the 2nd Amendment. I double-checked, and it’s really there, clear as day: the right of people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. It can’t get any simpler than that.
Once again, we are being undone by our own hubris. We thought we could tinker with a system of such unimaginable complexity that we don’t understand it — with no negative consequences. We arrogantly thought we could command the world to run as we desired. Now we’re getting a firsthand lesson about the inevitable downfall of hubris. Our hubris is being met by Nemesis — the Greek goddess of consequences.
Americans have been looking for the right politicians to lead us. But we’ve been looking in the wrong place. The right people to run America were never professional politicians. The right people have always been working Americans – albeit with some political skills. Politicians are good at pontificating about things they know little about. Working Americans know how to make things work.
As Donald Trump would tell you, construction projects are easy to build. The hard part is getting the permission and funding to even begin. That’s why building the border wall has been such a problem for the past 20 years. It’s not that expensive, and it’s easy to build. But one party seems to think it’s not in its interest to secure the border, so it’s fought it every step of the way.
But the “okay” sign hasn’t always meant “white supremacy.” It used to just mean “okay” – you know, as an innocent answer to a question. That got me to thinking. If its meaning had changed over time, what other non-verbal communication signals had changed as well? I don’t want to accidently signal that I’m a cis-gendered homophobe or something. I decided to do a little research.
Is there anything Joe can do to change that investor behavior? There sure is. He’d simply need to announce that he’s opening up drilling, endorse fracking, and give the green light to pipeline projects. Investors will expect prices to drop, and they’ll bail on the futures market like rats from a sinking ship. But that would require admitting that Donald Trump was right. That’s not going to happen with this administration.
Luckily, the Democrats are hostages to their leftist sponsors and show no inclination to adjust their tactics. Bill Clinton knew how to “triangulate.” No Democrat after him has even considered this. Conservatives can attack their vulnerabilities in complete confidence that they will continue doing the same things. By the time they realize their tactics are flawed, it will be too late.
It’s just my opinion, but I recommend that the Republicans leave Joe Biden alone — other than crushing his agenda, that is. He is the lamest of lame ducks, but he does have an insurance plan. That insurance plan is named Kackling Kamala Harris. I say we just let old Joe keep mumbling, “Trump did this, Trump did that, and Trump did the other thing” — as if it somehow means something. Besides, President Gremlin is the electoral dead weight that the Dems have strapped themselves to.
Should the suspect decline mediation, physical restraint may be appropriate. However, physical restraint shall only be employed under the direct supervision of a medical professional. Upon determination that physical restraint is called for, the police shall “call time out,” and request a backup doctor be dispatched. They may proceed with restraint only after receiving the doctor’s written authorization.
The moderates are fighting with the radicals, and the radicals are behaving like the spoiled children they’ve always been. The radicals are even encouraging their followers to video the moderates in public bathrooms as part of the vote whipping process. Bernie Sanders (D, Socialist) has declared that if he can’t have everything on his Christmas wish list, he doesn’t want anything. And he may just get his wish — the latter one that is.
The reality is that Joe’s level of expertise reveals the flaw in the socialist objective. The left has always told us that past experiments in socialism have only failed because it wasn’t done right. They assert that it would work just fine if we put smart people in charge and let them run everything. And then they gave us Joe Biden, as the supposed smart person that would make it all possible.
Issues of LGBT rights became a thing following the Stonewall riot in 1969. Over the course of fifty years, the acceptance of those with different lifestyles has grown. Justice Anthony Kennedy legitimized the movement by finding a right to dignity in the Constitution. It was viewed as an expedient way to grant constitutional legitimacy to the movement. But look where it has led. We now have naked men bathing with six-year-old girls in health clubs. Boys in dresses are raping girls in the restrooms of their schools — a place where every child should feel safe.
