And when one is looking to compare their own experiences to someone else’s in an effort to demonstrate their significance or oppression, it’s never a good idea to suggest that those experiences are in any way relatable to the late South African President Nelson Mandela. Mr. Mandela spent almost 28 years in prison as a political victim of a genuinely racist, white supremacist regime (not the mythical type that resides in the imaginations of American leftists), and is considered one of the most heroic figures of the 20th century.
They can’t believe that there are Americans who actually love our country, believe that our government shouldn’t be the answer to all our problems, and prioritize America’s national interests above others. They seem genuinely shocked when informed that there are indeed those who strongly disagree with them and whose opinions are well-reasoned. So, when someone like Mike Tyson speaks up and talks sense, it not only assists in bursting that leftwing bubble, it gives additional credibility to conservatism.
But this latest approach to race-based cherry-picking is taking the mindset to a new level and is thereby dismantling two major narratives in the process. First, by adding Asian-Americans to the list of non-qualified fellowship candidates simply because of their race, the leftists in academia and at Google are – perhaps unknowingly, or maybe just uncaringly – thoroughly blowing up the idea of so-called ‘white privilege.’
In the very first edition of The Blue State Conservative’s list of ‘Woke Companies to Avoid,’ the Walt Disney Company was enshrined at #7. That list was published over 18 months ago, yet here we are, with the tone-deaf company doubling down once again. After the global backlash from the recent same-sex kissing scene in the Buzz Lightyear film “Lightyear,” a movie that was a tremendous financial flop incidentally, Disney hasn’t adjusted, they’ve become even more focused on radical wokeness.
We’ve had humorous presidents before, with Ronald Reagan quickly coming to mind, but none at the level of Trump. And despite the intense friction in today’s political climate and national tensions having been ratcheted to previously unseen levels after last week’s outrageous Mar-a-Lago Raid, Mr. Trump this week managed once again to inject some much-needed humor into our political debate, and he did so as only he can.
Trump took documents that the Biden Administration and FBI feel that he shouldn’t have. The FBI got a warrant signed by a pro-Obama judge, and they sent in 30+ agents to raid Trump’s house, the first time in American history that such authoritarianism has taken place. A far-left news outlet named the Washington Post promoted the notion that included in those documents was nuclear secrets. And the geniuses Beschloss and Hayden went even further and suggested that Trump was sharing those secrets with foreign enemies.
As America-Hating Brittney Griner Heads Off To A Russian Penal Colony, A Look At What Life Will Be Like
If Griner had been caught with less than an ounce of cannabis oil in the U.S., depending upon which state she was in, she might not have even received a summons. If she had been detained, she would have undoubtedly been allowed to post bail, and in some states they would have simply released her with no bail. But in Russia, Griner was arrested last winter, thrown in a prison outside of Moscow, and she has not drawn a breath of free air since.
When a few hundred clowns barged into the Capitol, their actions were essentially a footnote in history. America was never really under threat on January 6th. But when President Biden and his thugs decide that it’s OK to launch a fishing expedition against a former president and current political foe by militarizing the FBI and invading that president’s personal residence, those actions are much more than a historical footnote.
Coming Soon To Your Town: Soft On Crime Policies Result In Armed Robbery In A Suburban California Driveway
Perhaps it is incidents like these that will ultimately turn the tide in California and elsewhere. Voters in San Francisco became fed up to the point that they booted their prosecutor, although Boudin’s replacement isn’t exactly Dirty Harry. Los Angeles may be headed in the same direction. But when suburbanites start to fear for their lives in the driveways of their own homes, maybe the rejection of soft-on-crime Democrats on Election Day will begin to prevail everywhere.
Watch: Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters DEMOLISHES Joe Biden, Slams Him As “War Criminal” In Stunning CNN Interview
But ultimately, Roger Waters should just be quiet on politics. You want to lecture us in your song lyrics, that’s one thing. But just because you’ve been blessed with immense talent doesn’t mean we care about your politics. Even if we happen to agree with Roger Waters this time around, we should be consistent in rejecting the very idea of rock stars and other celebrities standing in their pulpits to preach their politics to us.
If she had been accused of a similar infraction here in the U.S., Griner would probably be shooting baskets at this very moment instead of rotting in a cell. She would likely have a crack staff of overpaid American lawyers exploiting every loophole of our criminal code, and she’d be free to criticize our country to her heart’s content. So, Brittney, maybe it’s time to revisit some of that anti-Americanism of yours. Maybe, just maybe, America isn’t so bad after all.
Ultimately, as mentioned, Griner has become little more than a political pawn in a high-stakes game of chess. The Biden Administration has been highly critical of Vladimir Putin’s Russia and his decision to go to war with Ukraine. The U.S. has subsequently engaged in aiding the Ukrainians and applying stiff, economic sanctions on Russia. The relationship between Russia and the U.S. is at its worst point in over thirty years, which is a bad time to get caught smuggling weed into Moscow.
As the lead lawyer in the courtroom, Durham also went on to provide some detail regarding the progress of his investigation team and gave us some hints into what tactics they may employ. According to court records, Durham has requested the court issue 30 subpoenas for witnesses, Durham estimates the trial will last five or six days, and he stated that his team is on schedule for making discovery available for the defense team.
Violent crime in NYC is up 40% over last year, and 2021 wasn’t exactly a banner year either. Shootings have doubled compared to 2019. As a result, half of New Yorkers now say violent crime is the city’s number one issue. The crime problem has almost certainly inhibited the city’s post-pandemic recovery, and residents have apparently had enough. Rest assured, it is for this reason that Adams is now diverging from the DeBlasio/Cuomo approach to crime prevention.
The more government control the better, because government knows best. But whereas socialism is essentially the government ownership and control of the means of production, communism goes a step further and seeks to have government dominate all aspects of society, not just production. And to do so requires one-party rule, complete obedience from the citizenry, and the suppression of any troublesome news by a compliant media. Sound familiar?
Yes, being lectured by a British Prince about freedom is enough to strike a nerve in any American. Perhaps Harry forgot about that lesson from his personal tutor regarding the Revolutionary War. But when we also consider the man’s obvious illiteracy behind America’s Constitution and the values which created it, his comments become even more outrageous. For those who have forgotten, once upon a time the Duke of Sussex also called our First Amendment and the freedom of speech provided by it “bonkers.”
Biden’s Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo has been singing a similar tune while playing the semantics game. And President Joe Biden himself joined in the fun on Monday, stating, “We’re not going to be in a recession. My hope is we go from this rapid growth to a steady growth.” Got that? Not only are we not in a recession, we’re in a period of “rapid growth.” Fantasy is much more appealing than facts if you’re a Democrat.
How Bad Is It? California Homelessness Worsens And Governor Newsom Looks To Shut Down Oakland Encampment
We each have a right to freedom of speech, to bear arms, and privacy from government intrusion. We each have the right to purchase land and to build a house that complies with building ordinances. But we don’t have the right to compel others – the taxpayers – to provide land and/or shelter to us. That land on Wood Street belongs to the people of California, not to any individual. And the fact that the situation has deteriorated to the point that even the far-left Newsom is calling for it to be shut down illustrates how problematic the camp has become
What is particularly eyebrow-raising about this proclamation is the timing. It’s only July of 2022. Biden’s challenger has announced his candidacy and we’re still months away from November’s midterm elections, and Biden has only been in office for eighteen months. We should also recognize that we haven’t had a single candidate officially announce their candidacy on the other side of the aisle, as not one Republican has announced their intentions to run in 2024 yet.
Any of us who’ve caught a glimpse of Samantha Bee during her show over the past seven years, however, realize there is a more fundamental problem with Ms. Bee: Her personality. Simply put, she’s not very funny and is instead quite annoying. Even if Bee wasn’t acting as a surrogate for the Democratic Party, attacking Republicans for anything and everything, and regurgitating the talking points of the Biden White House on a nightly basis, she’d still be incredibly irritating.
What this sad story also illustrates is the likelihood that the pro-transgender contingent of the LGBTQ movement will be their undoing. The initial message from the gay rights crowd was one that most Americans were accepting of: Live and let live, don’t discriminate, and tolerate. But the position of the transgender indoctrinators blows up their arguments and discredits the entire group.
Avenatti’s original argument is laughable in the extreme. Fox News engaged in a “malicious effort to destroy his reputation?” And exactly what reputation would that be, Mr. Avenatti? Your reputation as a lowlife scumbag was established thanks to your own behavior, sir, and Americans were able to figure that out all on their own, without any help from Fox News or anyone else.
There are steps our governments – federal, state, and local – can take to reduce or eliminate the gun violence plaguing our communities, but seizing the weapons of law-abiding, protection-minded citizens should not be one of them. While our elitist, intellectual superiors at outlets such as The New York Times claim that such “good guy with a gun” occurrences are “statistical unicorns,” the rest of us know better. Or maybe unicorns are a just lot more common than we’d thought.
Schilling’s basic root cause analysis, which probably took all of five seconds to complete, and the colorful articulation of his opinion should not be controversial; F-bombs excluded. When we travel to other states and countries, we’re responsible for obeying their laws. We’re entitled to disagree with those laws, but we don’t have the right to break them. And if we do, we’re held accountable; all of us.
But decisions in lower courts are critical as well, and decisions there often set the tone and lay the parameters for extended, more long-term battles. Such is the case with a recent ruling by a federal judge in Tennessee regarding the transgender debate and the efforts of the Biden Administration’s Education Department which is trying to force its far-left transgender ideology upon state and local governments.
