After Barack Obama’s first four years in office, our friends on the left began to recognize the reward structure that was beginning to form for anyone who claimed to have been subjected to racism. Victimization was incentivized. It paid to be oppressed. Since that time, the original definition of ‘racism’ has been bastardized to an extent that it is no longer recognizable.
The decision to pull the plug on the service after only one month comes after its much-ballyhooed launch and widely publicized disastrous implementation. Subscriptions to the service were paltry which shouldn’t have come as a surprise considering that the ratings for the free version of CNN have been plummeting.
Newsom is a radical leftist in a radically left state, but is so incompetent he had to endure a recall vote last fall. And then we have AOC, who may be beloved by the Democrats’ vocal contingent on the far left of the party but is way outside of the mainstream of American politics. AOC is considered a laughingstock by huge swaths of the American public. AOC is a punchline, nothing more.
Last year’s murder rate in Chicago was the highest in a quarter-century as the violent crime rate skyrocketed across the city. After her constant demonization of law enforcement, Lightfoot’s relationship with the police is horrendous. She totally botched her handling of COVID and public-school closings. And citizens are fleeing the city in previously unseen numbers. Chicago is a hell hole, and Lightfoot is to blame.
As usual, he went off-script several times and provided us with some curious and disturbing moments when he did. But even when he was reading from his teleprompter, much of what he said was outright bizarre.
As far as Biden speeches go, this one contained all the aspects of what makes a Biden speech a trainwreck. For those who are aficionados of Joe Biden oratory, this 27-minute lecture had everything you could ever want… or dread.
A poll coming out today reveals that not only do a large majority of Americans believe Biden may be a Chinese puppet, but a shocking number of Democrats also concur. When we add that news to the demographic results from last week’s Quinnipiac poll which ravaged Biden, the lesson is clear. Biden and Congressional Democrats are headed for a clobbering this fall in the mid-term elections, and things appear to be going from bad to worse.
To fully appreciate this commitment from Licht, we need to first grasp the role Twitter plays in the mindset of leftwing journalism. Twitter isn’t merely the soapbox they stand on to have their voices heard, Twitter is where they go for affirmation. Twitter is the platform they use to ensure they’re properly aligned with the rest of the mind-numbed leftwing robots and talking heads and to make sure they’re properly regurgitating the Democratic Party’s talking points.
According to reports of the court proceedings, Buck was fond of “meth-fueled sexual encounters” with men with whom he would provide temporary housing and/or monetary compensation. He would offer the drugs to the individuals and once intoxicated, inject them with excessive doses. Once his victims were sufficiently intoxicated or unconscious, he would act out his fetishes and perform various sex acts on them.
The sad reality in America today is that there are incentives to being a victim. Victimhood pays. It’s what drove Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) to falsely claim for years that she was Native American. It’s why Rachel Dolezal insisted that she was African-American, and made it all the way to the head of a NAACP local chapter. And, of course, rewarding victimhood is what drove Jussie Smollett to attempt his comical hoax.
Richard Bernard Moore is set to be executed on April 29th, and per South Carolina law he has been given the option to choose between the electric chair and firing squad for his mode of death. Moore has opted to die by firing squad, which means he’ll face a team of three prison guards armed with rifles pointed at his heart. Moore would be only the fourth American to die by firing squad since 1976.
We all remember when Biden told us that he had been a truckdriver in his youth, only to find out that it was a lie. Then there was that time he said his family had almost died in a house fire, and that was also a load of crap. We can also remember when Biden had to drop out of the 1988 presidential race because of plagiarism and lying about his academic record, wrongfully claiming he had graduated near the top of his class at the University of Delaware
Soft penalties for child predators have been a controversial topic across the country over the last couple of weeks due to the confirmation hearings in the U.S. Senate for now-confirmed Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. Republican lawmakers asserted that Jackson had been excessively lenient, though Justice Jackson defended her sentencings and made multiple attempts to justify them.
It’s not often we can refer to dialogue about government spending as “fascinating,” but in this case, the shoe fits, and the intrigue comes from the reality of who these two men are: Bill Maher and Joe Rogan are leftists. They are both self-described, unabashed liberals. But what makes them sound like today’s conservatives is the fact that they haven’t totally lost their minds:
There were many absurd assertions made by Cullors during the almost hour-long dialogue, with the interviewer sounding more like a cheerleader than someone seeking insight. Cullors made her appeal for slavery reparations. She played the ‘woe is me routine’ about the online scrutiny BLM has received on social media. But, as we’ve come to expect, the most prominent aspect of her schtick continued to be her ‘I’m a victim’ routine.
If restricted to using only a single word to describe our great nation, there are several that come to mind right away. Probably the most appropriate would be “exceptional,” but others such as “extraordinary,” or “magnificent,” or even “unequaled” would also work well. But prior to Biden deploying it, one word that had never been used before is “azafootamahoozamoohah.” And please accept our apologies, Mr. President, if we misspelled it.
Virtually all of Hollywood and most of the music industry leans left, politically. Pick a genre outside of country music, and you can probably count the number of openly conservative performers on one hand, though there are likely many more who are in the closet. One such unapologetic conservative star is the incomparable Kid Rock, who showed his in-your-face “I’m a conservative and I don’t care what you think” approach at a recent concert.
And the serious reactions to the not-so-serious tweet weren’t just limited to Twitter. The leftwing media fell for Musk’s trolling as well. Consider this headline from The Street, “Musk Has an Original Idea to Solve The Homeless Crisis in San Francisco.” Or this one from Business Insider, “Elon Musk floated the idea of turning Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters into a homeless shelter.” Well done, Elon, well done.
Lest one think that Maher has gone to the dark side – aka, given up being a liberal in favor of conservatism – feel free to watch the rest of his show. Maher is as tilted to the left as he’s always been. He derides “MAGA Nation,” takes shots at the right for attention we’re giving to leftist pedophiles, and hits on many of the tired cliches that leftists are so fond of painting us with. And as Maher has stated many times, he hasn’t changed, the left has changed.
This disturbance, along with Barrett’s comeback, reminds us of the vitriol and unhinged approach that Democrats and their media applied in trying to prevent Barrett’s confirmation. They were ruthless, but they were ineffective, fortunately. One of the narratives they tried to spin at the time was that Barrett was beholden to the mythological American patriarchy. As a mother of seven (gasp!), Barrett was obviously an advocate for women being barefoot and pregnant.
