For this reason, the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) formulated a code of ethics that states, among other things, that journalists must be “fair”. Since the dictionary explains that the word “fair” means treating a group of people equally,” Lemon is factually incorrect that it is his “job” as a journalist to hold one group of people to a different standard than others. Quite the contrary, as SPJ’s Code of Ethics states, it is his job not to hold different groups to different standards.
Trump never said that there were good white supremacists at Charlottesville, a fact that even Jake Tapper, who is not fond of Trump, acknowledges. Trump never asked the Georgia Secretary of State to fabricate votes for him in the 2020 election. Trump made clear in that phone call that he only wanted the Georgia Secretary of State to find the legal votes that he believed were out there, etc.
Woodward too recited his lines perfectly when he stated that Pelosi’s committee “has written Donald Trump’s political epitaph.” That is, Woodward uncritically repeated the claim, already denied by secret service agents, that Trump “leaped from the back seat trying to grab the steering wheel.” Yes of course, and in 2018 Woodward, eager to do his bit for Hillary’s Trump-Russia collusion hoax, stated that “the investigative walls are closing in on Trump”.
If They’re So Incensed At The Return Of The Democratic Process, Should They Really Be Called ‘Democrats?’
The Supreme Court’s job is to identify rights that are already present in the constitution. If the Supreme Court starts “making things up,” as they did in 1973 when they “discovered” a right to abort babies in a constitution that never once mentions abortion, then they are acting inappropriately. When, therefore, SCOTUS overturns Roe they are saying that the alleged right identified in Roe, like the hypothetical Brady touchdown, never existed.
Another turning point for many conservatives came when Chief Justice John Roberts, who, we had all been assured is a strong conservative when he was nominated to the Supreme Court in 2005, apparently forgot that it is the job of the legislature, not the judiciary, to legislate, rewrote Obamacare to save it for his beloved Führer, thereby violating the “separation of powers” doctrine of the Constitution.
The most important, reason why McConaughey’s proposals are unworkable is that ultimately any such provisions would have to be enforced by the government in the broad sense of that word, a government so incompetent that it cannot figure out how to get baby formula on the shelves. Only about 20% of the population now trusts the government to do what is right “just about always”.
“Law abiding citizens have a Constitutional right to protect themselves. But our cowardly Congress continues to aim at them… not the criminal element. Pathetic!”
We have seen this farce before. When CNN held a town hall after the 2018 mass shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School, the auditorium reflexively cheered Sheriff Scott Israel when he criticized the NRA. However, Israel is no longer the Broward County Sheriff. It turns out that before the shooting, Israel had earlier changed the department policies concerning active shooters from the instruction that they “shall” confront the shooter to the policy that they “may” confront the shooter.
For, in fact, overturning Roe vs. Wade merely returns this question to the individual states where, in this thing called the “democratic process,” the American people (remember them?) will vote in these things called “elections” to determine whether or to what extent abortion will be limited. On the Alito draft, the American people in each state, in accord with the electoral processes in their own state, will decide this issue. It’s called “Democracy”.
No serious Republican has endorsed this extreme racist French theory” that there is a Jewish plot to “replace” white Americans with Muslims and Africans (racist because it involves Jewish plots and refers to specific races and religions). Republican objections to the Democrat plan would be exactly the same if Democrats were importing blonde-haired blue-eyed yodeling Scandinavians to shift the US electorate to the Left.
When you are in a knife fight in a back alley with a thug and you punch back after he has punched you, it would not be accurate for a “journalist” covering the fight to say that you are “contributing” to the fight, that is, making things worse by fighting back (not, of course, unless you are a Republican and the thug is a Democrat). Kayleigh’s point was that by identifying the culture war Trump was not making it worse.
In fact, photodynamic therapy has been used effectively to treat Covid and other viral diseases. Further, a research team led by Mark Pimentel, M.D. at Ceder Sinai Hospital is conducting research on a UV light therapy called “Healight” that appears to show that delivering ultraviolet light through an endotracheal catheter yields positive results in treating various respiratory infections including Covid.
The Left also had something else in each of these cases, what is called in psychology “confirmation bias”. That is, the Left typically does not begin with a neutral survey of the evidence and, on that basis, make a judgment about the truth of the matter. They begin with their own ideological prejudices and on that basis decide what the facts are.
This should not be hard for the left to grasp because this is the same argument they have used since at least the 1960’s, namely that one should not evaluate someone for a position on the basis of their skin color or gender because it is racist and/or sexist to do so. However, it is now, in a miraculous act of transubstantiation, seen by the Left as racist or sexist not to do so.
The differing ways in which Democrats and Republicans are treated is striking. When Trump tells his followers “To peacefully, patriotically make your voices heard” he is accused of calling for violence. When Giuliani states an intention legally to take Trump’s opponents to court, he is accused of calling for violence. And so on. By contrast, “Democrats” call for real violence, rapes, assassinations, punching people, etc. It is in fact an important question why leftist ideologies of “tolerance” and “inclusivity” produces such vile unhinged, often infantile, hate. Many of these people literally need help.
One might be tempted to respond immediately that AOC has it backwards, that, in fact, capitalism is about freedom and socialism is about dictatorship. However, it is worth examining closely the precise words in which current socialists like AOC express their grandiose visions. For, AOC actually does not say that capitalism is a greedy irredeemable system. What she says is that capitalism is a greedy irredeemable system to her.
What is curious about this case is that even if Burnett, and many other media figures who have harped on this same point, are right, this is hardly a consequential lie. Indeed, it is more like bragging, a “fish tale,” than lying: “I caught a bigger fish than any you ever caught”. But it is certainly not as consequential as lying about the current humanitarian crisis at our southern border, lying about the COVID facts, lying about nuclear deal with Iran, lying about the 4 Americans murdered in Benghazi
Since Trump had already explicitly criticized “white supremacy” (and this not the only occasion) long before that debate with Wallace and Biden, by asking that question Wallace was reinforcing Biden’s fact-checked objectively false narrative that Trump had not criticized white supremacy. If one asks someone in public why they won’t deny beating their wife, one has, even if the charge is totally false, and even if he has already demonstrated that he doesn’t beat her, done the damage.
This may be why, according to a Jan. 30, 2022 ABC News/Ipsos poll, 76 percent of Americans, and even 54% of Democrats, want Biden to consider “all possible nominees” while only 23 percent want him to keep his pledge to nominate only a black woman – and even among non-white Americans, only 28% want Biden to limit himself to a black woman. The American people, unlike Joe Biden and controlling forces in the “Democrat” Party, still believe in a colorblind America.
Perhaps by the “Big Lie” CNN means the lie by the Biden administration that single male illegal immigrants are being turned away at the border that was exposed when bodycam footage acquired through a Freedom of Information Act request “shows federal contractors dropping off migrants at the Westchester County Airport in White Plains, N.Y., last summer, with one contractor on the scene saying the Biden administration was ‘betraying the American people.’”
The fact is that we give the police an impossible job (repeat: impossible) and then we put their every split-second decision under a microscope searching for some mistake (or something like Officer Wilson’s actions that can be represented as a mistake by unscrupulous partisan activists) – a standard the elites would never apply to themselves. Needless to say, Officer Lewis, being a police officer, not a professor, never sought out the camera or complained about being ignored. He just did his job.
