All one needs to do is to spend a few moments observing AOC – in happenings such as last week’s fake handcuff incident, for example – to understand that Ms. Ocasio-Cortez cares about herself, and little else. She’s as narcissistic and attention-seeking as any politician in America, and that is indeed a bold statement. What we must consider now is this: With these attacks by Jessica Ramos, are Democrats finally starting to see what the rest of us have known for years?
On Wednesday, she joined several other congressional clowns to participate in a pro-abortion rally in Washington D.C. before being arrested for “Crowding, Obstructing or Incommoding” by Capitol Police. As she was being led away by the cops, she put her hands behind her back as if she was handcuffed. But she clearly wasn’t because only moments after beginning her walk with the officer, she raised her right hand to wave to the crowd before quickly putting it back in place again.
The Democrats also benefitted. It turns out that the executives of those mega-stores donate predominantly to the Democrats. It’s part of their partnership (see crony capitalism definition above). In the 2016 and 2018 election cycles, 93% of Costco employee (mostly executives) donations went to Democrats. In 2012, the CEO of Costco even spoke at the Democrat National Convention.
One might be tempted to respond immediately that AOC has it backwards, that, in fact, capitalism is about freedom and socialism is about dictatorship. However, it is worth examining closely the precise words in which current socialists like AOC express their grandiose visions. For, AOC actually does not say that capitalism is a greedy irredeemable system. What she says is that capitalism is a greedy irredeemable system to her.
There are many lessons to be learned from Tuesday’s election results, but AOC’s assertion isn’t one of them. Terry McAuliffe didn’t lose because he wasn’t far enough to the left… far from it. McAuliffe lost because, among other things, his unrepentant leftism turned off large swaths of Virginia’s electorate; in historic numbers. And we shouldn’t assume AOC is simply trying to sugarcoat things, that’s not what’s at play with her comments here. There’s no doubt: AOC truly believes the reason McAuliffe lost was that he was too moderate.
AOC and her Squad want you to think they are champions of the little people, and that Biden is onboard with them. They are champions of themselves feeding on the little people. They are driven to change America into a Socialistic country, but I do not think they are wise enough to look into the future. What they are working to create is a failure.
It used to be that both parties could go along to get along and America would be relatively well off either way. One gets the sense it didn’t much matter whether Nixon or JFK was president, things would have been somewhat similar either way, however dire and important the elections seemed at the time. Such is life during the calmer phases of history’s cycles.
The congresswoman, who likes to portray herself as a staunch feminist, apparently misses the irony of her statement. If you’re trying to defend a woman’s so-called right to an abortion AOC, it would probably help if you actually called that person a woman. And if there is indeed no such thing as gender, and if we must pretend that anyone can menstruate, how do you know that Governor Abbott can’t menstruate?
