Yes, government should provide infrastructure such as mass transit, roads and sidewalks, and playgrounds; but parents are the ones who are ultimately responsible. Parents decide where they live, what their children eat, and how much exercise those children get. One thing on which both the Left and Right agree is that government should play a role in education. Therefore, a suggestion: let’s run a public service announcement stating the following – “Hey Mom and Dad. Tell Junior to put down the Cheetos and Dr. Pepper, turn off the TV, and get off of his butt.”
Big Government is Incompent
In the 1940s and 1950s, state and local government debt was much lower than today. Federal, state, and local governments grew substantially during the 20th century. Spending, revenue, and debt increased as the population grew, and the government invested more in infrastructure, education, and social programs. Leading up to the Great Recession that began at the end of 2007, total state and local government debt increased sharply. It has been falling since 2010 but increased between 2019 and 2020.
Employees are accountable to their employers, and employers are accountable to their owners: either stockholders or other types of proprietors. If $1 million goes missing from a private company tomorrow, no matter how big that company might be, by the end of the day someone will be packing up their belongings into cardboard boxes and heading out the door.
And while we joke about meteorologists, they’ve gotten pretty good at their jobs. Even if they’re sometimes wrong or slightly off, they’re typically right about the next few days, at least in the temperate clime of the Southeast. Not good enough to predict the climate out for a thousand years, as climate change “scientists” claim is possible, mind you, but good enough to know if going fishing in the afternoon is a good idea.
Here’s a little game I used to play with listeners coast-to-coast on my daily talk show. The goal was to compel them to think about the Government, its size, the pervasiveness of its laws, and smothering regulations. This was the challenge: Name the 2 things you come in contact with every day that are not taxed, regulated, embargoed, licensed, restricted, or prohibited by the Government.
The illegal immigrants that the Biden Administration is releasing are into predominantly red states. The plan is that upon achieving citizen status, these new voters will align with the Left and turn these red states to Purple or Blue. I hope that this backfires. I hope these folks reject a life of Socialism and vote yes for the opportunity and a life based on individual freedoms.
Insecurity concerning wealth or knowledge leads to a complex order of prominence among the oligarchy and those striving for acceptance. The major question becomes what social action will allow advancement and recognition from this ruling group?
We have not had a president that has put the interests of the USA first in his presidency since Reagan. The others have supported the WEF, China and the Latin societal invasion. Mr. Trump gave a half-hearted attempt but was bowled over. We as citizens have the usual response of just trying to be polite and let these thieves ransack our home. The rotten government exists because we allow it.
The initial public requirement for schools was a Massachussets law in 1647. There were various structures developed for both religious and state schools in the 19th century. Horace Mann was the great engine for expanding public schools in America. In 1911 Wisconsin dedicated part of its’ new income tax for schools and other “essential” services.
here had been threats since Chauvin was charged with second and third degree murder and second-degree manslaughter that acquittals would provoke rampaging riots. After the riots last summer, no one could doubt the threats’ credibility. A guilty verdict on all counts could avoid injuries, deaths, and billions of dollars in property damage.
Grandma might have been the red herring during the coronavirus shaming, but she is certainly not of concern to Democrats under their new proposals. Unless she lives in a retirement home, it is hard to see how she would be deemed essential to anyone other than you.
