Hollyweird is starting to take note of their responsibility. Over 200 members of Tinseltown’s best and brightest have signed a pledge promising to portray guns in a responsible way onscreen. A batch of writers, actors, producers, and directors – including Jimmy Kimmel, Mark Ruffalo, and Amy Schumer – have endorsed an agreement titled #ShowYourSafety for Brady United.
It is a keeper. Bookmark it, download it and keep it handy. It is something to share with liberal “friends” who have been triggered (in this case, about COVID, SARS CoV2, The WuFlu, China Virus), …I can hear the twigs snapping from here. You call it the wrong thing and ‘Snap!’ That in itself is satisfying but not as much as sending them a great big ‘sh!t’ sandwich to chew on from someone who is, for the most part, on their side. This is one of those. A very common sense look at the naming history of things by scientists, until what? The Wuhan Flu.
Elon Musk came around because the Democrat party thought it would be a good idea to continuously piss off the richest man in the world, (and Trump). But the Democrat party can dump on Bill Maher all they want to. They can attack kindergartners for being slave owners, they can force transgenderism on kids and make parents the villain. They can ignore thousands crossing the border illegally every day. They can raise taxes, they can crash the economy. But you know what? Like a beat-up wife that won’t press charges, Bill Maher won’t step up until the Democrats have beaten him to death.
It’s not often we can refer to dialogue about government spending as “fascinating,” but in this case, the shoe fits, and the intrigue comes from the reality of who these two men are: Bill Maher and Joe Rogan are leftists. They are both self-described, unabashed liberals. But what makes them sound like today’s conservatives is the fact that they haven’t totally lost their minds:
Lest one think that Maher has gone to the dark side – aka, given up being a liberal in favor of conservatism – feel free to watch the rest of his show. Maher is as tilted to the left as he’s always been. He derides “MAGA Nation,” takes shots at the right for attention we’re giving to leftist pedophiles, and hits on many of the tired cliches that leftists are so fond of painting us with. And as Maher has stated many times, he hasn’t changed, the left has changed.
Maher is not a conservative. But he is a liberal in the classic sense, which means that he adamantly opposes cancel culture and is open to reason. Genuine reason, such as the idea that men are men and women are women, and that those differences aren’t just natural, they’re a good thing. Maher also has a knack for injecting undeniable humor into the points he makes. Such was the case on Friday night.
Black and Hispanic folks care about their well-being, and the well-being of their friends and family. They care about our national security, our economic stability, and they want the best educations possible for their children and grandchildren. Their priorities aren’t much different from those of every other voter, and they’re beginning to recognize the shenanigans that Democrats have been playing.
Maher makes a point that many Euro nations have loosened or ended their pandemic restrictions. Much like many here are looking for that as well. The pandemic limitations on kids, who have very high survivor rates, he describes as “unnecessary and horrible.” In my mind anyway, it’s also stupid, and trying to force parents and schools to inject kids as young as five with unproven and possibly unsafe vaccines is criminal.
