County DA Summer Stephan is currently registered as an independent but had been a Republican until 2019. Most importantly, Stephan is not a Democrat. Additionally, though the county is now 56.3% Democratic as of 2016, one of the five members of the House of Representatives representing the county is Rep. Darrel Issa (R-CA), a highly influential and conservative member of the House.
Black Lives Matter
Cullors has one person – plus someone helping her film, presumably – knocking at Cullors’ gated property where’ she’s obviously protected, whereas we have Supreme Court justices who are having their lives threatened by scores of angry protesters marching in front of their ungated homes. Are we supposed to pretend that the endangerment of SCOTUS justices is inconsequential whereas the threat to Cullors is urgent?
While much has been said in opposition to BLM, and their own corruption and duplicity have resulted in a dramatic crash in public opinion for the group, seldom has any been so effective and clever in dismantling their arguments as what we see in this video of a man with a bullhorn addressing a group of protesters at a health care facility:
After Barack Obama’s first four years in office, our friends on the left began to recognize the reward structure that was beginning to form for anyone who claimed to have been subjected to racism. Victimization was incentivized. It paid to be oppressed. Since that time, the original definition of ‘racism’ has been bastardized to an extent that it is no longer recognizable.
What If There Was A Reasonable Explanation For Leftist Radicalism? What If It’s All Just Narcissism?
The numbers of this group have been estimated as about 2% of our species. The question then becomes, why do our standards have to bow to the tiny minority with these mutations? Political rights have always been extended to them. I have difficulty understanding why they find it necessary to stand on a soapbox and rant about their sex life. Heterosexual people do not spend time in this arena, indeed one would be ostracized if one did.
There were many absurd assertions made by Cullors during the almost hour-long dialogue, with the interviewer sounding more like a cheerleader than someone seeking insight. Cullors made her appeal for slavery reparations. She played the ‘woe is me routine’ about the online scrutiny BLM has received on social media. But, as we’ve come to expect, the most prominent aspect of her schtick continued to be her ‘I’m a victim’ routine.
We have leadership members at the highest levels of BLM engaging in the policing of social media platforms including Facebook. When the group identifies anyone making unfavorable remarks or promoting content critical of BLM, they then flex their muscles by contacting accomplices at the platforms who then shut down those criticisms. And they even go so far as to hire private investigators to go after the naysayers.
In countries like the United Kingdom, which didn’t have a thriving cotton industry and therefore had a lesser economic need for slavery, their experiences with slavery ended only a few years before our own. In the UK, for instance, the Slavery Abolition Act freed their slaves in 1834, and for France, slavery didn’t end until the Proclamation of the Abolition of Slavery in the French Colonies fourteen years later in 1848.
Let’s be perfectly clear about one thing: Black Lives Matter (BLM) does not care about police brutality. BLM cares only about one thing. Power. The latest silence on the part of American and Canadian BLM chapters provides the starkest illustration of this sentiment yet.
After a DC officer was injured and the deaths of two NYPD officers, the Black Lives Matter chapter of Washington, DC, has called for the public not to automatically hail cops shot on the job as “heroes” before all facets of a situation are evaluated. I can appreciate the waiting for all the facts before any determination is made. I question the timing of their demand.
How would Norman Rockwell have depicted 2021? Would the lone speaker be standing tall and confident, knowing that he would suffer no retribution for his words? Or would the artist somehow depict his emotions, knowing that he is placing himself at great personal risk of being canceled from his livelihood and social associations?
