Americans have been looking for the right politicians to lead us. But we’ve been looking in the wrong place. The right people to run America were never professional politicians. The right people have always been working Americans – albeit with some political skills. Politicians are good at pontificating about things they know little about. Working Americans know how to make things work.
Congressional Republicans Complicit
The next part of the real, proper agenda, directly from the American people, has to be decided by us and enforced by us. This is going to require a legitimate strategy, healthy debate, and careful implementation. It has to be done within the confines of the Republican party (trying to go third-party has not worked, and will not work, ever) and it has to reflect a big-tent philosophy with a traditional American bent.
There was never a shortage of members of Congress who would seek out a media camera and microphone to not just disagree with Trump but also to denigrate him and his supporters, describing him and us as racist, homophobe, misogynist, transphobe, gun nut, climate denier and criminal. They even went so far as to impeach him and conduct a Senate trial over the words “you have to fight.”
