It should also be noted that the “establishment” of religion, prohibited by the First Amendment, only refers to compelling people to belong to a state-sanctioned church. Activist judges have perverted the concept and have illegally (jurists violate law when trampling the Constitution) expanded the prohibition far beyond its true meaning. Thus are we told that school prayer is verboten and the Ten Commandments mayn’t be displayed at a courthouse.
Freedom of Religion
Being tolerant is not possible if one’s religious views are grounded in a revelation that dismisses in the most heinous ways those outside that religious community. A centrally important part of tolerance is to be able to maintain a faithful skepticism about that which is revealed in one’s own religious tradition.
Sometimes the quest for spirituality can take bizarre – and even dangerous – forms. In another Internet group dealing with the intersection of medicine and spirituality, those same “New Age” ideas that appear to have taken over the religious section of bookstores seem poised to take a run at Western allopathic medicine as well.
It is accurate to say that Jews, Christians and Muslims all point to the same God in worship – the God of Abraham. The problem is that each group, and groups within each group, have varying interpretations of God’s activity in human affairs. The troubling issue is that all three religions consider themselves “revealed” religion, that God is “self-revealing” through the prophets and messengers.
Is it the elected that are on a power trip during COVID? Or is it the judiciary who are not interpreting situations but legislating from the bench? It is probably best shared but watching various governments erode the rights of their citizens is painful. These rights were given by God and reinforced with the blood of brave men and women who sacrificed to preserve these rights.
In a recent TV interview, former president Obama mocked those who would “be afraid of CRT.” Mocking opposing views can be effective, but greater minds than mine have already firmly established CRT’s Marxist roots. The shame is that school boards and education in general have been infected with the cancer surrounding this ideology of division between the alleged oppressors and the oppressed.
That idea of a higher power, above the government, above a king, is the real beginning of our nation. It’s the core reason Marxism hates religion: no person is subordinate in the eyes of God.
