There are steps our governments – federal, state, and local – can take to reduce or eliminate the gun violence plaguing our communities, but seizing the weapons of law-abiding, protection-minded citizens should not be one of them. While our elitist, intellectual superiors at outlets such as The New York Times claim that such “good guy with a gun” occurrences are “statistical unicorns,” the rest of us know better. Or maybe unicorns are a just lot more common than we’d thought.
Meanwhile, people with a deranged mental state intending to cause suffering without remorse will most likely illegally obtain their armors and weapons of choice. Or, in some cases, the shrewd-minded will find someone to help them purchase whatever they need from a different state—a perfect solution to all our “gun problems.”
Half of these same people polled believe that it is media misinformation and not genuine disagreements. This could be disturbing because each side may want to censor the other to get the “right” results. I would question whether this is true. There may be a true divide in America’s political views – the growing acceptance of socialism may be the source. In the past, this has not been so much the case.
The sheep will always feed the wolves and will always be at their mercy. A nation of laws is just a feeble attempt by the sheep to confine and control the wolves. At some point, the wolves will cast off the ineffectual shackles of law and resume their rightful power. This attitude is why the Left has always supported slavery, except when it was expedient to pretend otherwise.
We’ve seen this play out countless times when it comes to cancel culture. Just this week, the NFL’s Washington Commanders (Redskins!) lightened the wallet of assistant coach Jack Del Rio to the tune of $100,000 simply because he didn’t tow the preferred (Democrat) line when it comes to the actions at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, and the numerous (criminal) riots in the wake of George Floyd’s death.
Heart Disease is America’s #1 killer. When did you last hear a news report someone died of “heart disease, the nation’s #1 killer!” How does one contract heart disease? Poor eating habits tops the list. But we need to know exactly what was eaten!? Pizza? Fried Chicken? Triple Bacon Burgersaurus? Something must be held responsible for that unexpected myocardial infraction! “Fred was such a nice guy.” End Junk Food Violence!
A house or apartment with a big Rottweiler or Dobermann Pincer? That could certainly deter a burglar. The same can be said regarding a residence with a sophisticated security system. Burglars certainly want to avoid getting bitten by a big dog or having police arrive at the scene of a burglary while it’s in progress. But as much as criminals dislike dog bites and jail time, what deters them most is the prospect of getting their heads blown off in an attempted burglary.
What unbelievable contempt the left has for our Constitution, laws, and simple safety of people. Sure shot some career criminal intent on killing you and leftist prosecutors arrest and put you on trial for murder (see Kyle Rittenberger) at the same time they are releasing convicted murders from prison early because of a said disproportionate number of blacks in our prisons.
There isn’t any clause in our U.S. Constitution that can be interpreted to give Joe Biden, Congress, or any state’s legislatures the power to disarm Americans or exert gun control over them in the manner they are currently doing, and they certainly cannot do so by way of a Department of Justice “rule” and an illegal executive order handed down from on high by the tyrant wannabe, Biden.
A big, burly man, sat waiting in a car for a potential victim to walk close by enough to assault. A young woman, just going about her business, was walking nearby, so he tore our of the car like a flash and rushed toward her, ready to do God knows what to her. Perhaps his goal was robbery, perhaps rape, perhaps abduction, or perhaps murder. Fortunately, neither we nor she have to find out.
Nowadays, I can just see some thirteen-year-old repeating this same casual act, with some blue&pink-haired, nose-ring wearing LGBTQ Democrat screaming bloody murder and “Oh No … [Oh God?] … Somebody call the police … he’s going to kill someone” even though they’d just called their representative the day before to demand the police be defunded.
What does correlate with the ’90s mass shooting phenomenon, however, is the greatly increased medicating of children (especially boys) with psychotropic drugs, the intensification of mindless entertainment violence, the Internet’s rise, continued family breakdown, and burgeoning godlessness with its associated moral relativism. Any discussion about reducing crime that doesn’t include these factors simply isn’t serious.
Newsom will force the Supreme Court to weigh written rights against imaginary rights. The right to bear arms is an actual written right. It’s right there in the 2nd Amendment. I double-checked, and it’s really there, clear as day: the right of people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. It can’t get any simpler than that.
The difference is the venue. This was a Hollywood movie set (in New Mexico), not a standard situation such as you and I might find ourselves in. While Alec Baldwin is an experienced actor with many scenes of gunplay within his resume, he’s very much not a proper “gun guy”. I point that out because it’s paramount to the points made below about Hollywood safety protocols that do exist, and why they exist in the way they do.
The BLM group members are not the victims we need to protect here. The McCloskeys were entirely justified in their actions. Gardner’s concern over the couple’s threat of force against the “peaceful protestors” is just another politically motivated lie.
