Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich recently noted that he and his delegation of U.S. leaders had stopped in Taiwan in 1997 during a tour of the Far East and China did not act belligerently or retaliate in any manner against the U.S. or Taiwan during the visit or anytime afterward. He also noted that if Pelosi does go ahead with this trip, it will be the first visit from a highly placed elected U.S. official since his visit in ’97.
Democrats: Let’s Invent A Threat, Hype The Heck Out Of It, And Then Heroically Rescue America From It
The old tactic of “Never let a crisis go to waste” has morphed into, “Keep creating crises, real or imagined so we can amass the power required to use force rather than persuade you to do what we say.” -and never forget that we get to do that because of our greater compassion for the people we seek to enslave.”
New tactic, but the same old tyranny.
It’s understandable that Pelosi wouldn’t exactly be thrilled at the prospect of posing for pictures with someone who not only illustrates her rapidly eroding grasp on power, but who also flies in the face of her party’s narrative on all things victimhood related: Flores is a Hispanic female, a legal immigrant, and an unapologetic conservative. Simply stated, Mayra Flores is Nancy Pelosi’s worst nightmare. But does that justify Pelosi elbowing out an adorable ten-year-old as if she’s Charles Barkley in the paint?
Why would AOC come forward to say she was warned a week prior to the 6th of January that something “bad” was going to go down on the 6th? Who warned her? Why was she warned, and not others? Maybe others were warned and only AOC was dumb enough to come forward with this information. She nearly blew the scheme wide open. Someone recently described her as a rare combination of stupidity and exuberance.
My advice, then, is to take the televised January 6th hearings for the grand entertainment it’s intended to be. Enjoy the sob stories of the Capitol Police officers pretending to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. Behold the terrible “threat to our Democracy” of the bare-chested interloper in a horned helmet chatting-up security guards in the Senate chamber.
The committee wants to break attorney-client privilege because Eastman is obviously a criminal, since he works for Donald Trump and he is reported to have written a legal opinion that differs from that of the committee. That certainly makes him a “threat actor” (per the DHS), but I’m not seeing how asserting the constitutional rights of his client makes him a criminal.
In a reality outside of Alice’s Wonderland, the request would have been required and met with full unredacted documents provided. Judicial Watch is a member of the media and thus has full rights to the request. There are also terms within the Act that specify how long they can drag their feet, which they have exceeded.
