Some people do need to be isolated from the public. When a person shows a pattern of repeat offenses, like Darell Brooks, put him away and lose the key. He is not worthy of freedom and any more chances. After a twenty-year crime spree, his days of freedom should be over. If not, we can mourn his victims. We can make excuses, but that will not bring back those innocent people gone forever.

If a white male, with a history of making openly anti-black, racially-incendiary statements and repeated acts of physical violence, had intentionally careened into a Juneteenth parade of black elders and young people, it is fair to say that the George Floyd Riots of 2020 would look like a child smacking a pinata in comparison to the reaction to such violence.
