No, as my above paragraph indicates, Mr. Thomas, I won’t play the pronoun game. I won’t stop mentioning that your birth name is “Will.” I also can’t in good conscience call you “transgender” as opposed to the more accurate acronym I originated, MUSS (Made-up Sexual Status). No, those things I can’t, or won’t, do. But there’s something I will, Will.
The epidemic of wokeness can infect companies in any industry. We’ve already seen it contaminate companies from the transportation, restaurant, banking, and online retail industries. Wokeness is all around us, and it’s unacceptable. Historically, many of these organizations are some of our favorite companies and brands who gladly take our money while trampling on our conservative values.
For The ‘Neurodivergent’ And Those Using ‘Bunnyself’ Pronouns: What You Really Need Is A Dose of Reality
The young woman whose “lecture” opened this article, simply put, is divorced from reality despite her self-understanding as among the wokest of the woke. Indeed, that is the problem with the ideologically abstract policymakers of today who feel unconstrained by reality when making decisions that affect so many.
Target is all-in on their wokeness, and may even be worse than Wal-Mart which is on our list at #14. Target not only supports BLM to the tune $10 million, they have also been running TV commercials promoting black-owned, LatinX-owned, and LGBTQ-owned businesses. As always, if we reversed the races and sexuality of their campaign, and said they were promoting straight, white businesses, would that be a problem? Additionally, Target is clearly in lockstep with the fascist anti-fascists known as AntiFa, as they have repeatedly engaged in book banning.
This past January, The Blue State Conservative proudly published the article, “12 Woke Companies to Avoid” by our good friend, Gen Z Conservative, and you can read that article here. Since that time, the problem with wokeness taking over corporate America has not improved, it’s gotten worse; much worse. Therefore, we bring you the next group of companies to add to that growing list.
But there are many, many companies which existed prior to the internet from whom a great deal of loyalty should rightly be expected, because a great deal of loyalty has been paid to them over the years. Some can be cited as particularly egregious examples of crappy decision-making in the age of “woke” because they’ve thrown entire generations of loyal customers under the bus with their incessant drive toward wooing the johnny-come-lately crowd.
For example, they described Kyle Rittenhouse’s shooting of three thugs attacking him as “racist.” How? Everyone involved was white. Did Rittenhouse’s shooting of a white person bashing him over the head with a skateboard show his “belief that race is a fundamental determinant of human traits and capacities?” No! That’s utterly absurd. Even if the person attacking him were black, there’s no way it would have shown racism.
In addition to the obvious expense to the taxpayers of Exeter who have to pay to defend the SAU and then foot the bill for any settlements, the Education Department is a stain on our proud town. These incidents indicate a systemic problem with the department. That problem is a lack of respect for students, their parents, and the goal of educating our children.
Not so long ago, there were groups of people who were provided with everything free. They were given food, shelter, clothing, education and medical care without charge. They were protected from violent crime. They never feared unemployment. They were provided with fairs, festivals, and other free entertainment. They owned nothing and by many accounts, were happy. They were called slaves.
The state seems to be moving back towards its conservative roots, but the Seacoast and Exeter specifically are entrenched with Liberal and Democrat elected officials. This prevailing ideology also means our local school board, which ironically is housed in the original Tuck High School. The name on the building is as close as this board comes to conservative thinking.
We’d hear about how there weren’t enough women on corporate boards, but not how there weren’t enough female garbage collectors; there’d be complaints about how actresses didn’t earn as much as actors, but not about how female fashions models command far more income than their male counterparts. It was never about equality. It was always about power and prestige.
Had the skin colors been reversed, with white students aggressively confronting peaceful black students, the white students would have been summarily kicked out of school for committing a hate crime. But because the racially confrontational students were black, Arizona State’s woke administration swept the incident under the rug by characterizing it as nothing more than a harmless disagreement.
Who decides that Green Eggs and Ham is bad but Out of the Darkness is suitable for children’s minds? When the actions of these boards are uncovered, there is no accountability. There are no suspensions or terminations. There are claims of First Amendment rights and the protections the boards require to be able to ram through their agendas.
When you get back, you can explain why it was wrong for you to cross the street with Trump but right to show your white rage for Biden. By then, Joe should have us into some other stupid mess that you can use to really strut your social justice warrior bona fides. By then you’ll have all this white rage experience under your belt, and you can stand beside Austin on near-equal terms.
Those who have been indoctrinated in all things leftist, instead of educated, have become a growing flock of sheep in America who are willing to surrender real freedoms for illusory government guarantees of comfort, security, and faux happiness sans rules and morality.
Scriptural religion is about individual salvation; social religion is about collective salvation, a concept that does not exist in Christianity. In many churches on the religious left, the communist goal of replacing revealed religion with social religion has largely been accomplished, as evidenced by the constant refrain of religious-left pastors who sermonize about their undying commitment to the cause of “social justice.”
ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith Reminds Us, Bowing To The Woke Mob Is A Bad Idea: A Growing List Of Examples
While Smith was clearly naïve in suggesting that the English language is relatively easy to learn, his overall point that English-speaking stars help make the sport easier to sell is obviously true. The level to which the situation is problematic is certainly debatable, but Smith’s position was certainly reasonable. But reasonableness doesn’t matter to the woke.
To use a tennis analogy in respect to MLB, baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred’s decision in early-April to move the All-Star Game from Atlanta to Denver was an unforced error. And a costly one. After receiving pressure from Democrats and their media regarding Georgia’s controversial-but-not-really-controversial voting law, Manfred bowed to Cancel Culture and demands from the MLB Players Union and succumbed.
The average Joe would probably want his spaceship designed, built, and controlled by the best people. When you’re in the radioactive, frozen vacuum that is space, flying in a ship that would explode if even the slightest error were made during construction or if the pilot steered it in the wrong direction, where almost anything going wrong or being done incorrectly would mean certain death, merit matters far more than diversity.
Government-funded institutions should not be holding and promoting events where the attendees’ skin color is a determining factor for admission; particularly when those attendees are school children. It’s wrong.
I do not care what color the pilot of my airplane is. I just want the most competent flyer that will get me to my destination safely. To see that you are now deviating from this common sense policy is quite frankly terrifying.
Punish legislators, both at the state and federal level, that won’t fight these woke companies by primarying them. Punish the companies by boycotting them and avoiding their stock. Agitate for legislators to tax them at obscene levels.
Rather, the New York Times provides a guide on the matter and asks, “Are you a person, place or thing?” before presenting neopronoun examples such as “bun/bunself,” “kitten/kittenself,” and “prin/cess/princesself.” Mine, at least right now, is besidemyself.
United will polish its woke credentials by giving its clientele what it wants most — diversity in the cockpit. United has announced that 50% of its new pilots entering training will be females or people of color.
